What is Permaculture?

Permaculture is a system of gardening that utilizes the natural ecosystem so that gardeners are working with the environment instead of against it.

It is a whole system of gardening, and even agriculture, that centers around sustainable practices for growing and maintaining different crops that promote a more natural ecosystem.

This method of gardening has 3 basic tenets:

  • Care for the Earth
  • Care for the people
  • Fair Share

There are also 12 design principles and you can learn more by visiting the Permaculture Research Institute,
